Where’s my writ giver!?!

So, I was told by a friend of mine that the clipboard you buy from the tradeskill societies once you have enough faction will summon a rush order NPC for 30 minutes to your home.

I logged in today and no dice :( This makes me sad, because as it stands, the clipboard is pretty much useless. I’m kind of tired of having to go to a different zone, then zone into the crafting instance to actually do writs. I really would like the option of doing my writs from my home. Granted almost all the crafting I do is from my home and I’ll head out for stacks of fuel when I run low, but, I really would like to do my writs from my house as well. I personally don’t want to craft in a laggy city zone, and I really don’t like running to the Ironforge Exchange all the time then back home to pay my rent so people can shop directly.

I’ve looked around to find out where he saw this information and still have yet to find it. Was a little disappointing to say the least :P

I did see some of the other stuff he mentioned, like the expansion on house limits and vault slots. I’m looking forward to that a lot. I usually pack rat raws and stuff on my main crafter in my house vault, and just plain old junk on my main adventurer. Extra slots would definitely be nice. Not to mention, my Paladin’s house is getting quite full and I wanted to get some of the newer furniture from this expansion up there without dismantling any portion of the most awesome chapel that Domino did in my house for my wedding.

It seems to me that things are starting to get more complicated with crafting. I guess there’s recipes that come from different factions for various things. I honestly only craft so I can avoid buying stuff. Trying to keep where to get the books post tier 5 was bad enough, but now having a bunch of recipes that I can’t get (or at least keep straight) is a bit overwhelming to have to deal with. Yes, you can scream “n00b” at me. It just seems to me, why over complicate something that really isn’t supposed to be a major part of the game. Well at least in what I’ve observed over the years with EQ2, crafting has certainly been shuffled off as a side game, to the point where a lot of the items aren’t even worth making unless you’re just trying to level.

I’m OK with that personally, I come to play EverQuest, not EverCraft. It has been a little disapointing that pretty much nothing I make is worth selling anymore, you used to be able to make all manner of stuff that would actually sell. Pretty much the only thing you can make that will sell are adept 3s and consumables. Most people don’t bother with mastercrafted armor anymore or weapons. Adornments are a dime a dozen, except for the fabled and legendary ones, so there’s no real market there. I’ve been making more money farming Stormhold than crafting for quite some time now. I really wish there could be some balance between the income of crafters and adventurers, but every time someone attempts to do it there’s nothing but complaints from both sides.

I really liked the fact that mastercrafted armor once was on par with legendary. Now that legendary gear drops like candy and mastercrafted gear got nerfed to uselessness, it’s pointless to make any of it because it never will sell. I’ve basically leveled an armorer for nothing at this point. I’ll probably just use him to make mastercrafted gear for alts for teirs 2-6 to save myself the trouble of trying to get anything good, but that’s about it. Once upon a time, my woodworker used to make great money on mastercrafted weapons. Since “rares” drop so frequently now there’s absolutely no profit in those either. I am leveling an alchemist at the moment, so perhaps I’ll make some money off adept 3s.

Well I suppose I’ve gone kinda off topic. If anyone knows where info about writ clipboards are, feel free to point me in the right direction :P
