Temple of Kor’Sha
OK, so we can blow through most of Kor’Sha pretty easily, but when we get to the twins we have the most problems.
Kodux and Zarda suck
The encounter seems to be random dumb luck. We generally do just fine until Kodux or both Zarda and Kodux port me at the same time. I end up with both of them on me, get hit for 12k focus damage then pounded 2 or 3 times totalling another 15k. This encounter is challenging enough without the randomness. I mean keeping them within 20% of each other so they don’t start hitting like 10k every other second is hard enough, a few times last night they burned Kodux down too far and I started taking 10k hits over and over. I would last like 3 or 4 of them then the healers couldn’t keep up past that and I’d drop…
I really think instead of porting someone every 15 seconds (20-30 with traumatic swipe in effect) the encounter would be a little bit more manageable. As it stands right now the sheer randomness is just keeping us from getting past it. The majority of our failures last night was the 2 mobs getting together after porting me and smashing me with the combination of AE and crushing hits right on top of each other.
We’ve been doing the burn one down 20% then run over to the other one and do him 20%, the back to the other…it seems to be a bit more manageable since most of the people that could possibly get ported will all be with 1 of the nameds, and they just need to either stand still in the middle or run back to the mob they’re burning. It does feel like it goes smoother. Basically have each in their respective hallways, first pillar past the stairs and just rescue the mobs back with whatever snap aggro you have. Only problem I’m having is all my snap aggro is down at some point and I have to start chasing the mob down b/c people either get kicked somewhere, or they don’t move quick enough or die. If I get ported while tanking Zarda by Kodux, then I’m toast b/c the other tank can’t usually get Kodux back fast enough. I usually wait in the center and hope both mobs get peeled, but they move so quick they never do.
One thing that might help this encounter is have the mobs move to the center a little bit slower, as it is now, they go tearing off and usually make it to the center before the tank even has a chance to cast anything or start chasing them down. We’ve even tried having a couple tanks waiting midway down Zarda’s hall to catch him on the peel, but they don’t pick him up fast enough before he’s out of range. This fight is just stupidly random.
It’s basically coming down to we do real good, get them down to like 20-50% and then both or one of the tanks gets ported, 1 shotted then stuff just falls apart. Randomness like this should not be part of encounters. It’s become a really irritating and frustrating trend with EQ2 lately. Pirate Jones for the Swashbuckler epic quest was just as much random dumb luck and it sucked so bad people weren’t getting their epics completed until the heroic adds were nerfed. They didn’t need to nerf them as much as they did, but at least that encounter is doable. They need to do something to this encounter too, maybe give people ported a 2 minute immunity from getting ported again? I just don’t know what to do, but the stupid randomness is really frustrating.
