Oprah…why outside my job?

So it seems Oprah is closing off Michigan Ave from Ohio to the river for her anniversary show….

Unfortunately the mess is right outside my building…I’m not terribly sure why she decided it was a good idea to close off one of the busiest streets in Chicago for 3 days…she could have just done this mess at Navy Pier and brought a whole mess of business to the stores there and the pier itself. Instead she figured it would be a better idea to inconvenience everyone else who doesn’t care about her show by closing off Michigan Ave. How self centered is that? Busses have to be re-routed, making people’s commute a pain, cabs can’t use Michigan to easily get from one end of downtown to the other, increasing people’s cab fares…

Seriously, next time do it at Navy Pier, it would have been better for everyone if you had done it this time around.
